16th Annual Blessing of the Inlet
2012
"Blessing of
the Inlet"
Mission Statement:
To create a festival filled with
worship, food, fun and fellowship and
highlighted by a "Blessing" ceremony that
celebrates our Christian heritage and gives
thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ for His continued blessings in our
Inlet Community, while generating funds for
many missions, charities and nonprofit
organizations.
"SEE YA' SATURDAY!!!"
Of course we are talking about the 16th
annual "Blessing of the Inlet" celebration!
As always, it is held the First Saturday
of May, and this year is no exception!!
Belin Memorial United Methodist Church
is so excited to be hosting this event.
Saturday, May 5th, 2012
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With over 75 arts and crafts vendors
showcasing their wonderful handmade goods a
virtual treasure trove awaits you. Whether
it is the beautiful paintings or handmade
jewelry, there is something for everyone!
Don't forget about all the delicious food
prepared by some of Murrells Inlet's finest
restaurants! Also, to tempt you, we have our
incredible children's events, which
include face and hair painting, numerous
inflatables, climbing wall, and the ever
popular "Dunking Tank" where they can take
turns trying to "dunk" your friends.
There will also be a full day of
outstanding entertainment featuring
dance troops, gospel choirs, contemporary
Christian musicians, and more.
This festival is highlighted by the
"Blessing of the Inlet" Ceremony which
starts at
11:30a.m.
The blessing will be administered by the
Reverend Dr. Mike Alexander and the Reverend
Marty Nason.
There is no admission or parking charge
and the event will be held rain or shine.
So come help us celebrate the Glory of God
and all He has "blessed" us with!
We are NOT associated with The Blessing of
the Fleet.
Due to Belin's focus on the people and lives
of Murrells Inlet and the surrounding South
Strand, the "Blessing of the Inlet" does not
include the blessing of animals.
"See Ya' Saturday"
has developed into the "Blessings" official
slogan.
All of the Grand Strand and the surrounding
areas will be saying very soon...
"See Ya' Saturday!!!"

CONWAY PARKS, RECREATION & TOURISM
WELCOME WEDNESDAYS…
CONWAY-
The Conway Visitor Center is continuing the
“Welcome Wednesdays” tour series this
month “down by the river” with a
guided tour of the Conway Riverwalk and the
Historic Warehouse District.
The Conway Riverwalk is one of the area’s
most engaging landmarks-a tranquil riverside
walk that offers spectacular scenic beauty
and a chance to soak up warm sunshine and
cool river breezes as you stroll past a
series of historic sites that define
Conway
as “South Carolina’s Historic Rivertown.”
The tour will begin each Wednesday at 1:00pm
and the fee is $3.00 per person. Attendees
will meet at the Conway Visitor Center
located at 903 Third Avenue.
Plan to come early enough to enjoy a great
lunch at one of the fabulous downtown
eateries and do some browsing in the unique
specialty shops. A visit to Conway’s
Riverwalk offers warm sunshine, cool river
breezes, and spectacular scenery (bring
your camera). Visit the Conway Marina
Store for a hot dog lunch and some hand
dipped ice cream! It’s easy to spend the
day in Historic Conway.
The “Welcome
Wednesdays” program is presented by Conway
Parks, Recreation & Tourism. For more
information and to make reservations for the
tour, please email
visitor@sccoast.net
or call Betty Molnar, Visitor Coordinator at
